Well, the verdict is in; the scope has to go to Germany. I'm told to exoect a 3-month wait before it's on my door step again. Nothing against S&B but put that in your differential when evaluating scopes.

Ouch. Did they offer you a loaner scope in the interim?

The S&B fixed 4x36 is a well built scope indeed, but you must temper this with the fact that it is more than 50% heavier than the LEU fixed 4x33 scope. The physics of this marked increase in mass adds much stress to the scope during recoil. This is a major reason behind the well documented durability of the LEU 2.5x scope being that it is well constructed with such low mass.

What kind of mounts/rings? Make sure to have at look at those as well. If something crapped out there, they'll take out every scope, seen it many times.

No problem: Talleys, lapped even.

A loaner was mentioned but I had to kind of pull that out of them. Not like it was the first thing on their mind.
