The Model 20/26 (starting around 10500), heavier stock, no rear sight dovetail, shipped with sling eyes. Earlier rifles with eyes were probably added after the factory.

I think I got that right...don't have all my info handy.

I have handled only one Savage Model 20, it was at a gunshow
back in the 90s, stock broken and repaired at the wrist,
chambered in 250, overall well used condition. Price was
500 or 550, it was gone the third time I went back to look
at it again.

DeHaas' chapter on the 1920s is full of errors.

If you want to know about 1920s and have WORD on your PC, PM me and I'll send you my monograph on them.

Say Steve, is that top rifle ever going to come cross the border and hunt deer in Canada? wink

That fancy walnut looks distinctly Canadian...

Steve--

Tell me more about that Stith. Is it a Model 70 mount? What modifications did you have to make?

Rod the side mount is for a Mod 70.
I got it this way,,It's very accurate, but looks funky! grin
and does not appear any modifications were done, the front of scope sits about a 1/8 inch off center
