I did a quick search on the forum and didn't find any threads on the Winchester Extreme Sporter. Winchester doesn't specifically list this on their webiste. I'm interested to know what calibers they are chambering them in. Is it the same calibers as the sporters or the extreme weathers? Any info would be appreciated. Probably worth a call to Winchester as well.

Found this one chambered in 300 Win. on gunbroker as I never heard of one before. They look pretty good.

You're probably going to have to give Winchester a call. I find it weird they don't list this model on their website!

They do look pretty good for sure. I handled one in a 270 WSM today and really liked the balance and relatively light weight. I'd like to see some specs on this to compare to the Extreme Weather. Just by holding the two different rifles there doesn't seem to be much difference in weight or LOP but still like to see some figures on it.

Is it an SC gun, or a New Haven?

Local shop had one in 300 WM, I handled it and really liked the feel of it. More so than the Extreme Weather rifles I've held, they didn't balance as well to me.

It's a SC gun.

The one I handled 2 weeks ago was chambered in .300 WSM.
Are they just a non-stainless version of their Extreme Weather? Beyond the steel, my eye couldn't see much difference between the two models.

That was my take too. Although it seemed that the fore end on the Extreme Weather may have been more rotund than the Extreme Sporter.

i read (on another board) that they are the same rifle except for the steel, one is ss while the other is not. everything else (stock, recoil pad, etc.) are the same. however, this info may be incorrect since everything we read on the net isn't always true.

I've been thinking about doing this with my FN PBR XP except for puting it in a micky instead of that horrible B&C stock. It would be a better rifle with the oldstyle trigger.

Interesting for sure. Wonder if they have the aluminum bedding block?

Hearing that the forearm is slimmer than the EW makes me think they may not.

Sure would like more info on them.

Update - I spoke with Winchester today and was told the Extreme Sporter is a limited run in three calibers only: 300 Win Mag, 270 WSM and the 300 WSM. Sounds like the same basic features as the Extreme Weather just in a matte finish and limited calibers.

I bought one of these at Sportman's Warehouse last week for $650. I called Winchester before I bought it and a lady said they were a special run made last summer. I have not removed the action yet to see if the stock has a bedding block. I really like the weight and balance.
