Well, I have 48 rounds downrange. After having trigger adjusted to 2 lbs and switching out the Talley mounts for the Nightforce, my scope and trigger troubles went away. I'm not sure what to think yet. Gun has some potential....I'm not a benchrest shooter. I have NO IDEA what happened on the 6" third group fired today. It was all over the place as you can see. So far the Berger 140 VLD's with Varget looks ok. I have allot more testing to do. I will hunt with it "as is" this year, I can live with 1" groups. If I can't do better, If money permits, I will beging with a make over, re; barrel, bedding, etc.
1" groups are better than most, regardless of what one reads on the web, and besides, you said you were a "hunter", so 1" is far more than sufficient. also remember you have a hunting rifle, not one built for the bench (or built to give "bench" groups). you may want to try a couple more bullets/loads for this years hunt, but i'd not worry about the accuracy you're getting. it's all good.
Give it a little time before re-barreling it. It has an aluminum block, so a skim bedding may or may not help.
My groups have always shrunk after I've fired the rifle a bit.
Don't know if this is me getting more comfortable behind the gun or the barrel is getting broken in???
But the groups always seem to improve with a little time. That's why I don't get into serious load development or do any tinkering until after I have spent some time on the range with one and know what it is doing.
Nice rig. I'm saving my pennies to get one just like it. 7/08!
FWIW, In my Micro medallion 7-08. 46 grains of Big Game topped with a 140 AB is an accurate load.
p.s. Is that a 2.5x10 Nightforce? If so how do you like it?
You know John Moses, I love Nightforce and have three but in all honesty, I think I will replace this with a Leupold 4.5-14X40mm and put this back on my AR. The crosshair is very fine and always needs illumination at dawn and twilight. Also, if you will notice how far back it is mounted. This is so I can get a full field of few at 10X. Glass is great, adjustments are second to none...but. I agree with your comments, I will continue to play with it and try to find out what she really likes, like the 140 SB.

Id sell it if it didnt shoot like my H-S stocked 700 708, thats not skim bedded, phew! Target on right is 150NBTs.
Nice to see these Extreme Weather reports and feedback. That's going to be my next rifle . Mine will be the boring ol 30-06 though . I'll post some groups with it for sure too. Hopefully it shoots as good as my other 30-06's

Holy chit mathman . You don't forget a thing do you. I know it will make you feel better that I will be using some talley's on my new extreme weather. I really think that is the way to go on that rifle.

I agree Hotsoup. Some here have had luck with the 120 grain bullets, I may try them, H414, 4064, 4350. Lots a fun
Stick with Varget & RE15, I use to have those 150NBTs loaded with 760 and pulled em all and opted for varget instead, the results speak for themselves. And Id get rid those 210M primers, they dont work as well as CCI or 9 1/2 primers. H4895 worked well with the 150NBTs, also.(39.5grs). And, give the rifle a chance by shooting in better conditions, Hot & windy wont cut it.
The Extreme Weather rifles sure look nice and feel nice. I seriously considered buying one but I've yet to see a report with any groups that excite me. It seems most are shooting groups 3/4" or more with factory or handloads. I'd want better than that.
