automation, more than anything, determines the productivity of the Earth.

how best to allocate or distribute the proceeds from this productivity is the challenge.

in other words, it dooesn't take many workers to supply the humans with their needs, but how are the goods and services distributed?

remember, when technology burst upon the scene, the world changed forever.

Must suck living with that kind of thought process. My kids have seen and know that if you bust it everyday, you can still win. When that ceases to be the case in this country, then the producers will leave.

If they lived in a Communist or Socialist country it would matter who they knew I guess. Hope they never find out here. Then again ask Joe the Plumber how it went when he dared challenge the King! Maybe we are closer than we think.

Boy are you living in the dark. It don't matter how smart or well qualified you are, or how well you did in school here. Want that great job as superintendent of buildings and grounds at the high school ? No problem, mommy and daddy are on the shool board and best friends with the administrators ! Oh, but you don't know anybody on the board ? Then you might as well forget it cuz they ain't even gonna look at your resume ! Want a job on the town highway crew ? No problem, uncle Butch and aunt Harriet are on the town board and it don't matter that John Doe has 15 years experience as a heavy equipment operator. He ain't even gonna hear about the job opening cuz you're hired ! That's how it works 99% of the time and I've seen it with my own eyes over and over and over again.

Sad, but true. Good looks don't hurt either.

That is a loser attitude.
It must be difficult perceiving yourself as a victim of the system.
Much easier if you can see your own contributions to your problems, then you can fix them.
I pity those without the personal responsibility to be able to pull themselves up by their own bootstraps.

[bleep] you, you pitiful, stupid asswhole ! I've worked for the town here for the past 15 years and have two brothers who are teachers here. Like I said, I've seen just EXACTLY how things work with my own eyes. That's why I keep getting stuck with the stupid, lazy progeny of the "well connected" on my work crews. It's the same way in all the other towns/school districts around here as verified by friends and family who work for those other towns. Wake the [bleep] up or at least have the brains and decency to shut the [bleep] up !

thanks be to all for allowing the BH to speak his piece. noone has to agree with anyone else. but, the messenger has a message. we don't have to agree with it, aceept it, or even consider it.

but, communication is the key. when someone comes on board with a different perspective, we have choices. we can hear them out, fail to open the thread, or place them on ignore.

i appreciate BH's willingness to come aboard and share with us his perspective. i fnd that i don't hardly ever agree with anyone anymore. maybe i'm individuating, or maybe i'm becoming a potential outlaw?
