These guys are not being honest with you. If you will note you find it only on bolt rifles bacause it slightly tames the barrel whip thus allowing better accuracy. We really don't know why blue tape does a better job but believe us, if you begin useing it you may see your group size deminish significantly. There are many theories but none of us can say just exactly why it improves groups. Place it about a third of the way between the stock and muzzle. Four wraps appear to be the best but you can experament from two to five or six wraps. Make sure you have no wrinkles in it as you wrap it because that will allow it to be too soft. Wrap tightly like a baseball. Don't let these guys snooker you and try it. Please let us know how it works. I'll bet you get similar results to ours.

I'll get right on that, but first, I have to hose down my rifles with WD-40 so they won't rust. We are going to have a rainy weekend! Laffin!!!

Or you can use small black party ballons.

The only good use for WD-40 around a rifle is to get the tape stickum off the barrel. When it is fresh, WD-40 can make things come apart that you don't want apart. When it ages, WD-40 turns into a thick gum that can can really mess with things like trigger mechanisms. There are much better lubricants, cleaners, and rust preventatives for guns than WD-40. I'm sure you already know all this, but just in case...

You gotta save the WD-40 for deodorant, arthritis, and anal itching.

My post was tongue in cheek, my friend. We all know that the only thing that WD-40 is good for, is cleaning and waterproofing scope lenses!

If you really want to go crazy with effective performance get some blue tips to go with the blue tape.

None of these guys have caught on yet but I have developed a barber pole twist application for blue tape on rifle barrels that will blow your socks off.

I'm still testing, and I probably shouldn't even tell you but... oh what the hell. Match your twist rate for your barrel but apply the tape in the opposite twist direction.

Thank me later.

Something clever here.

None of these guys are telling the truth...

They put blue tape on their rifles just to appear to be like the "cool" guys on the campfire, JeffO for example.... It is simply for effect...to appear expert-like...

Oh, also there are a select few who wish to adjust their barrel harmonics but can't afford a "barrel donut"...

Seems those barrel donuts should be sold as a package deal with a Bubba Buddy and a Butt Out tool.

Not many years ago blue tape was like a secret society living among the masses, almost like DADT. Yet, someone had to Ask, then someone else came out of the gun closet and Told. Now the metrosexual blue tape is all the rage and black tape is nothing but an inaccurate has been. Even worse, with all the blue tape being applied, hunters are afraid to even take showers with a trusted firearms for fear nobody knows which side of the fence their shoot from, not to mention any rumors of contracting the HiVis (high visiblity disease).

Can one of the cartridge slots on the Bubba Buddy be enlarged to hold the Butt Out tool?

Its a Rifle Looney Thing. Blue tape tells every one that you are a Rifle Loon and should bask in the Glory of our presents. Be it in Alaska or the Back forty in CT.
