Let's be fair. This thread had a dozen respondents before anyone decided to show their ignorance. That surely has some to be some kind of new intellectual milestone for this place. I'm sort of impressed.

My wife is Jamaican. She has a lot of relatives in this country and in the UK. They are all hard working and successful. I've noticed that I have never met a Jamaican in this country with a "chip on his shoulder". I know there are bad apples in every lot, but the Jamaicans I know are good people.

Your (likely) future son-in-law probably has parents with the same good ethics of hard work, faith, and integrity. It is most likely his upbringing that laid the foundation for the successes he is having in life.
