I have 4 Winchesters, A nice LH Model 70 and three lever actions. My favorites are the levers, maybe because as a kid in the 50's that's what everyone was using. Took me awhile to gather these but sure do enjoy them. All of them are used for hunting, but at my age I favor the ones with scopes. Top: Model 64, 1955, 30/30 Middle: Model 94 AE, before the stupid cross bolt safety, Redfield 2 1/2X 30/30 Bottome: Model 88, Post 64, started life as a 308, had it rebored to a 338 Federal, Leupold VX II 2-7X. Restocked with Fajen and glass bedded. This is a shooter even with it's crappy trigger.

Mine WOULD BE a Model 70 Extreme Weather SS in 6mm Remington if Winchester would only do it once, even if it was a limited one. I would buy one!! David

Here are my 2 favorites. The wood stocked one is a 30-06 and the one sitting in a McMillan is a 358 Norma that has since been ceracoated by Eddie and the scope updated to a matte 2.5x8

I only have one Winchester, and it is my favorite.
If I'm wrong, I'll admit it. If I don't reply further, I'm satisfied with my side of the "debate." ...nuff said.

Have about a dozen pre-64 Winchesters and other lever guns.
Of all of them, my three favorite Winchesters are: a 94 30-30 mfg 1936, a 62A pump 22 mfg 1954, and a 92 32-20 mfg in 1915.
Sorry, no pics...

No 1890 in that pic, top is a 62A untouched, 1895 in the middle restored and a 61 that I also restored. The 61 was a train wreck when I got it, did it all by hand and it came out pretty dam nice if I may say so.

I have recently purchased a Winchester model 1885 low wall chambered in .223. I am having trouble finding a scope base for this rifle. Does anyone have any advice on where to look or fixes for this problem?

Douglas #4 contour, 1-12 twist barrell cut to 22" Williams 1 piece bottom metal and extractor, set in a McMillan Supergrade stock. Metal was ceracoated graphite black by EddieF. I'm shooting 250 gr. Hornady's over 74 Gr. of IMR4350 in Norma cases and getting 2839fps with 3/4-1" groups.

Model 1890 22 short CC 1903 Auto ANIB 1903 Auto Engraved 1885 High Wall 401 Factory 71 In 33WCF Yowsa! If money were no object, I would have Turnbull build me one of those on a Browning (Miroku) '71. With a shotgun butt. Always wanted a Model 64 25-35, and passed on one because somebody had AI'ed it. Sycamore
...Actually Sycamore, you are sort of right....
