Sonnie What you saw was probably the 5.45X39 Russian. It was made to replace the 7.62X39 which is the common AK47 round. The AK74 uses it. It is Russia's answer to the 5.56X45 NATO (223). It is still relatively unknown here and I have not read anything about its use as a hunting round. It is supposed to use a 54 grain bullet at @2900. The case is what was used to develop the PPC line I think.
BCR

You old rascal, is there anything you don't know about? Been seeing those cartridges,(that's for Pat), for several shows now and they are pretty cheap by the thousand. Wonder if they are accurate or just bang bang? Looks like a suped up 222 Rem. -- no

Sonnie when I was 21 years old I was nine feet tall and bullet proof. I also knew and was certain that I knew everything of value that there was to know in the world. After the passage of four decades I find that I hurt in places that I was not aware I had and it constantly amazes me how ignorant I am about how many things.
BCR

I noticed after I passed 40 how dumb I really am and progressing that direction everyday. The new things on the market are impossible to keep up with even when you have the money. The higher position you accuire doesn't mean less work, just a different kind and more of it. When you retire you really go to work with no time for anything. Now I'm looking forward to becoming senile so I have no responsibilities for anything. Wonder if they will lock me up? Have you noticed the bad thing through life is RESPONSIBILITY, to yourself and everything else, even your dog. -- no

Sonnie if I know you as well as I think I do from these boards, RESPONSIBILITY is one of the best things in life for you. May not seem that way sometimes, but ask someone you love what it is they love about you. Dang I'm all teary-eyed now.

Get the 8mm. Milsurp for blasting ammo, Winchester Power Point factory for less kick game load, reload or commercial European for elks.

Also get you a couple of beagles for howling at the moon with.

Look hard till you find a real nice clean BRNO VZ24. You'll know it when you see it. Put you a good sling on the butt and ditch the side sling swivel. Have it drilled for a nice micro click peep and replace the pyramid front blade with a good post. Head for the hills with blasting ammo and beagles.

Buster, -- I can't do that, I have a little Poodle and he is real jealous, might hurt the Beagles and you know I can't stand the sight of blood. Already have the Mauser 98, 8MM and a jillion cartridges,(that's for Pat, shells for all you Southern boys), guess I will start shooting them up, then rebarrel if John will give me credit and a senior citizen discount. -- no
