Read the thread on here about the BFG KO. According to tire rack, the Michelin AT and Firestone AT are rated overall higher. Granted they do not look as cool. Real world experience, how do they compare in the road whine and ride smoothness. I am going to say all will wear similar in my application if rotated and aired correctly.

Forgot to ask another question. Load rating. How much does it affect ride and wear. About all I ever tow is a atv trailer. Should I be looking at C or D rated tires?

I just put 285/75 R16 on my '01 Silverado and they are quiet at highway speeds. Check out the photos under the Powdercoat wheels thread.

Think I have your answer, IMO anyway. Bridgestone revo 2's. I have them on my GMC crew cab Z71. I wanted just the tire you are describing. This was the tire I chose because of that. I actually went up one size and stayed with a passenger rated tire in this brand. Most of the tire stores say the same thing. Unless you are going to be towing a bunch of weight you do't need the D or E rated tires unless your truck specs them. The D and E tires are heavy compard to a passenger rating in the same tire. I didn't want to lose mileage on going to a heavy tire. And look at it this way, the tires I have on my truck are still rated at a higher load rating than the originals that came with the truck. My mileage dropped only about a 1/2 a mpg too. Only downfall on these tires I think....they seem to be wearing a little fast but time will tell. Hope this helps. BTW, read the reviews over at tirerack.com.

Revo 2s are good. They do wear a bit fast, but not anymore than other at tires. Quiet and good grip foe an at.

FWIW, I wouldn't buy tires because they look cooler than the others.

BFG all terrain's, Bridgestone Duller Revo's, and Yoko Geolander are what I've had the best luck with. The edge goes to the BFG's, then Geolanders, then Revo II's because of the crazy cost they now bring.

I've run a bunch of tires on a number of different trucks over the years and my favorite tire right now is the Cooper Discoverer AT3

They come in a load range E and they come in the 285/70/17 size. They ride great, are quiet and they last. Definately give them a look before you buy

I dunno about using passenger car tires on anything driven off road. When I got to Montana, I was using lighter tires of my Jeep. Chewed two of them up on the rocks and replaced them. Then I had a flat at at O'Dark Thirty on my way to hunt. Apparently the sharp, crushed rock they use here for their improved roads is tough on passenger car tires.
I've even had the side wall on a cheaper, load range "E" Michilen pucture driving off road.
I now use load range "C" tires on the Jeep and steel side wall Michilens on my truck. And have had no more problems. E
