Great job there Rory. Will have to put my Sandhills hunt pics in deer hunting as my 99 was acting up and had to use my brother's backup rifle.

Yeah, I know. I wish it were that simple. I need to tighen some things up as the rounds would not feed up for me. Will get that taken care of soon, but a dead deer is a dead deer... I won't go hungry this winter. grin

Sorry to hear about the problems with the 99, Jim. Now you know why I always take a 2nd rifle with me.

Bruce and Steve, hope you guys have some great luck up there. I know you have some big ones up in those woods.

Rory,
I was fortunate that my brother actually brought 3 rifles so I did not think I needed to haul up more than one, plus I had my 41 mag on my side. Next year, I will bring up more than one, regardless. Jim

grin Single shot 99's are deadly on deer. One shot Calhoun can verify that. GW

Calhoun:

Appreciate the read. All I can report is grey squirrels and one lonely owl. Still having high wind here. Started out with my single digit gun, tried switching off to change the luck, so far thats not working. GW

Good for you. I'd like to do the same with my EG. Just a little tight on time around here with all the family issues.

This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
