99's are great rifles, but to me thats exactly what they are, rilfes, tools I use to hunt with. I don't buy 99's to hang on a wall or store in a safe. I don't buy them to have people uuuh's and awww's because they're factory original 99's with cheap walnut stocks with poor checkering. <br>If I can improve the tools I work with, it's to my advantage, if I can improve the function of the tool and make it look better that's even better. <br>Thanks for the stock info. it's going to make my 358 even sweeter.

You might also consider an MPI fiberglass set http://www.mpistocks.com, just get somebody besides them to fit it to your rifle.
