Not my 270... here for keeps. Confident about that.

Gonna get another 308 MT though... feeling sore all over without a 308. frown

Honestly, no. I think it's too light a rifle for that round and its intended targets. I also think the 308 is borderline too light, even though I love the rifle/round.

I'd rather have a no.2 contour @ 24"... a Standard M700 in 223 would be ideal for me.

But I'm not a varminter anymore...

Shot it for the first time this week, just a few rounds to get it roughly sighted in. I honestly thought it was going to be a bit of a handful from the bench, but it wasn't bad. Pretty amazing for such a light rifle shooting 220 grain bullets at a decent clip.

8mm SF, very nice. Always wondered about that cartridge never have shot on though. How's does it shoot?

I'll have to let you know. I was a bit rushed, and a bunch cold. I've spent the last three years in SoCal and apparently I've acclimated to lows of 60 degrees and no rain. The PNW seems a lot more cold than I remember it. And just as wet as I remember it. blush

Some days like this, but I would't be willing to bet on it every day. Full length bedding seemed to improve bench consistency.

From field positions, it consistently puts them close to what you're trying to hit.

Nice rigs, guys.

Here's a phone pic of a Montucky in .243. I wanted a Montana in 7-08 but couldn't find one for sale. So I bought this in the Classifieds thinking I'd rebarrel to 7-08 with a PacNor 1-9.

She seems to want to shoot. I think I pulled the flier in this 100 yard group. I'm going to try some 80 grain TTSX's soon. If those shoot as well as this 80 grain Federal blue box, I'm going to leave her in .243 and try to find another Montana in 7-08, or a donor.

I need to dig up some pics of my Super America in .223...
She's drop dead gorgeous and shoots great too.
