damn that looks good!!

Went to a big camp out in Jan, 2010. I helped with the group breakfast, and fixed a gallon of Sausage Gravy to serve over biscuits.
I used a butter/flour/whole milk recipe, and crumbled up a LOT of fresh whole hog sausage into it. laugh

Made this last night and served it over a double batch of Buttermilk Biscuits. Added some wild pork sausage, what a treat at the table.
Picture Added for good measure.

Bob - those eggs steal the show.

Pretty pic, about 3-4 shakes of pepper and hotsauce would be the cat's meow!

Eggs a bit overcooked for my taste, and take coffee black and strong, but looks tasty otherwise. As stated, some pepper and then dig in.

I love biscuits and sausage gravy. Back in the 1980s, when I lived in Davie, Florida, right around the corner of the Church I attended was an old fashioned little country diner, and myself and some friends used to go in there for breakfast after services every Sunday. It was buffet style, and I'd get eggs and grits, biscuits and sausage gravy over top it all. Man, that was delicious. I've never had it as good since I moved from that area.

Made some bacon gravy yesterday morning. Wife says it's the best gravy I've ever made.

1/2 lb. diced bacon, fried with about 3 Tbsp. Wondra flour.
1 tsp. fresh ground pepper.
1 tsp. onion powder.
1 pint milk, added after bacon-etc. cooked.

Bring to a boil, turn to simmer for about 15 minuts.

Simple to make and goes great over hash browns or biscuts.

Bootsfishing, that looks mighty good. What proportions are the flour to bacon grease??

Thanks.

(Bob, yours looks fit to eat, too!)

Theres about 4 or 5 serving spoonfuls of bacon grease and about 6-7 regular spoonfuls of AP flour.
