The Trademark was started By a Michigan knife dealer named Dave Shirley about 10 years ago. Dave was a long time Marbles knife collector. He owned the MSA Co (Marbles Arms Co)trademarks which he used to market a line of special edition knives while Marbles was still making them in Gladstone.
He also leased the Scagel trademarks from the Scagel family.. While Dave owned Northwoods, all his folders were made by Queen- who makes some of the best factory made slipjoints in the US.
A few years ago, I believe Dave retired and sold the Northwoods/Scagel business to the owners of Kniveshipfree.com in Orgeon. I believe they are still made by Queen.
Email Derek a kniveshipfree.com .Tell them you are the proud owner of a Northwoods folder and ask for info on it. They have many Northwoods folders o their site, so I would look at the pics and see if your knife is one of the current models. That should make it easier for Derek to fill you in on exactly what you have.
