How durable are Frogg Togs rain gear? Note that this is dry country. I only put on my gear once every couple of years. I don't need anything expensive by any means. I did need it this year for about 1/2 day and found that my 10++ year old packable jacket is leaking. Time for a new one. I looked at Frogg Togs years ago and wasn't impressed. Are they any better now?

Not very durable. I got a new set last yr and only needed them 1 time this season, tore a gash in the pants and jacket on limbs. I was in a thicket but I'm not to impressed with them, surprised that they tore as easy as they did.

Not good for more than golf and motorcycles in my opinion! Pack bulky, uncomftorble and loud. They will shred in blow downs as well.

Watch Sierra Trading Post and Campmor, you can pick up a jacket there for half, or less, than the one in your link that's better quality and lighter. Check out the White Sierra Trabagon (has a back vent) and the Marmot PreCip (has pit zips).

Frogg Toggs are noisy as well.

I use frogg togs on my motorcycle and they work well. I do carry them in good weather just because it can rain a lot here. Pluses are they are super light and will keep the rain off. Minuses are they are fragile. Tore a pair of pants this year. Trying to do something that stretched the seam and it just popped. Sure found out the product limit fast!
IMO they are good for passive activities and as backup only.

i looked at them but they seemed to flimsy and seemed like they would tear easily.

the tyvek material sure isnt very durable

I use them as my rain gear.
They're cheap, lightweight, and waterproof.
Fragile as hell though.

I wouldn't use them if I lived somewhere it rained very often.

Just like my coffee making. I use the mountain man method.

I get wet.

I have a set that I use for hunting or backpacking. I haven't had any noise or durability issues after 100+ days of use. Most of the time I just carry the jacket in my pack but will add the pants if weather is forecasted.

Good rain gear for the price.

Don't know if I can add anything that hasn't been said. Lightweight, loud, somewhat breathable, packable, not incredibly durable, and inexpensive. My last pair lasted me three years using them for working outside inspecting power lines, never hunted in them. Tore the leg in year one and patched it with gorilla tape. Tore the crotch in year two and just left it, figured it didn't get much direct moisture anyways. Finally broke down and bought a new set the fall and used them once before I become unemployed. Now if it's too nasty out for my carhartts I just get back in the truck.
