okay... so not sure why I am bringing this down upon myself but I am going to start collecting information on these to see if we can draw any firm conclusions...so, if you have one, please PM me with the follow info:
(I will never share the entire serial, that said, provide what ever you are comfortable with) And just provide what you can or are willing to, the first three being most important.

Serial number
Caliber
Barrel length
Barrel address (expect style 8 but Big or small and dashes or no)
Anything stamped on front of receiver?
Fluted stock?
Front sight
rear sight
Anything on the Lever boss?

Please let me know if anything else is out of the ordinary such as non-matching serial numbers

T-EG, think he means

Believe some of these RT receivers are marked EG

yeah, there seems to be a lot of discussion about whether these are a combined R and T or an EG and T.... call it what you want...

Here's WAG on my behalf.

Betting the ones with 24" barrels are stamped EG on the receiver and the ones with 22'" barrel are not.

Mine is not, just checked. 22" barrel.

Just sayin

Kinda funny about this thread because I just PM'd a note on RT's the other day.

And lowest postwar 99R style was 1949/1950.

And highest prewar 99R style was 415,xxx - 1941?

I don't think we should be calling them 99RT's.

Yeah, I'll send it.

Be interesting to see what you come up with. Kind of curious about these creatures myself. Seems to be quite a lot of variability in them.

Old links..

22" barrel 30-30 belongs to Phil99 SN 432,1xx.

22" barrel 300 belongs to Kachad SN 431709
https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbth...s/4183113/Proud_New_Owner_Model_99_300_S

Another in 30-30 with 22" barrel from gunbroker, SN 431,7xx.
olgrouser also mentions he has SN #43210X, 303 "RT" w/22" barrel.
http://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/topics/2881160/2

99guy's RT from earlier, 431,xxx - Loggah has one at 430,5xx - Drew has one at 445,xxx. Few folks to hit up for details. grin

Every one I'm seeing looks like mid 1945 into 1946 from the serial numbers. These are mixed in with EG's from the same time period, no other models produced in any significant numbers during that timeframe that I can remember.

Steve has at least one in 300 that he bought from 300Jimmy... hopefully one of those two will post up with at least the serial and barrel length.

One interesting thing that I realize now... the one that I owned with serial 445xxx had a non matching serial on the forearm that was 432xxx... so all of there recorded could be considered to be in the 430-432,xxx range ... I do highly doubt that the one that I owned was swapped much later but it could have been... I would more likely guess it was a left over part at the factory as the gun condition in terms of bluing/case color/wood finish were all very good...

Drew, My rifle RT-EGT whatever you are calling them is, s/n 430,504 , cal 300 ,barrel length is 22" ,no 8 barrel address, upside down EG stamped on the receiver front, and EG stamped on the back of the forearm with the s/n. The front sight has a red bead like the "T" and it has the standard savage rear sight. Don
