It appears that there is only one visible stock crossbolt end, on the bolt side of the rifle? Seems odd that they would just drill from one side, particularly on this rifle.

Also that one picture of an 'original' JOC rifle there seems to be no crossbolt and on another a crossbolt. Another thing is that in the new pictures there is a hard pad on one rifle and a soft pad on another! The more I think about this JOC Commemorative rifle the less I want one. I have had pre 64 Featherweights since they came out. Also I don't want trigger guards looking out at me with lettering on them. At least it does not say Cabelas on it!
All guns should be locked up when not in use!

Looks like they're standard issue now. I checked out their website and they list the .257 Roberts right in there with the .270, .30-06, .243, etc BSA - according to 'Cheesy'; the 06 is on the list among others. Jerry I hope Cheesy is right.....I thought about this rifle off and on all day long, thinking if I had to buy a damn 270 this would be the one I'd buy...... . But if they are making it in 30-06 now all bets are off...PHEW, cheesy may have saved me from doing something stupid.... Sorry guys, we got off topic in here. The JOC commerative is just in .270. The .257 Roberts is being offered in a 'lightweight super grade', but also as a standard featherweight. That is where my comment about it being in there with the .30-06, etc was. Oh sumbeesh. I was getting all excited too.... If I ever had to buy a 270 it would be one of these though since I could never touch a real Biesen stocked one..
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Yes,
Your right. I just spotted that over on the W. site.
I honor JOC and other gun notables however I really don't want someones initials or name on my rifle. Also I am tired of that large Fleur-de-lis on the stocks.
Some of Tony's and others custom rifles are fabulous however. That's what I want. More fine customs but at used rifle prices.
All guns should be locked up when not in use!
