Brazoz Jack, Bill and I still shoot BPCR, we shoot the same rifle as you admired. I enjoy going with Bill to the matches and am learning to master the tecnique, though I will never be very good. The people at the shoot are the best part of it. My goal is to miss the correct chickens; sometimes I hit one and it is the correct one! It is difficult in strong winds off-hand! Berit

Mrs. Aagaard,
I hope you join this forum often! I've enjoyed the writing of the Aagaards greatly in magazines and books. I recommend "Guns and Hunting" highly to anyone; it was on my Christmas list, and it found its way into my stocking. I also have "Selected Works" and especially enjoyed the article on (I forget the exact title) home remedies, where the stories of fixing stocks with stove bolts and other fixes were told.

300_savage,
Thank you for your kind words. My two sons are stunned and delighted about their father's legacy still being very much alive. Berit

Wow, what an unexpected treat! Welcome to the Campfire Mrs. Aagaard. As a teenager I anxiously read every single article your husband wrote for the American Rifleman. He was (and remains) one of the all-time truly great gun writers, and you and your boys have every right to be very proud of him. I'm not sure how I've managed to be so unaware of the available books just mentioned in this thread, but I intend to seek them out post haste. I HOPE you visit here often. We can all benefit greatly from your words of wisdom.
Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. --Winston Churchill

222Rem I have now figured out how to get something on "favorites", so I may visit here often. I am not a computer savy grandmother, email is about as far as I what I can do, but I think I can handle this. Looking forward to further communications. Berit

300_savage,
Thank you for your kind words. My two sons are stunned and delighted about their father's legacy still being very much alive. Berit You and your sons may rest assured that Finn Aagaard's legacy is very well secured. I'd conjecture that Mr. Aagaard is rapidly approaching legendary status. Looking forward to seeing you around here more.

Because of this thread, I ordered The Book "Guns and Hunting" from Safari Press. Mine came yesterday, it is #402. They printed 500 copies so the number of remaining copies is less than 100. Just a heads up to those of you who may be debating purchasing the book.
I'm glad to have it it comes in a nice hard case and with Berit Aagaard's signature. Hopefully others will enjoy reading the wisdom and common sense of Finn Aagaard as much as I.
Thanks to the entire Aagaard family for their service and devotion to their adopted country and sharing some of Finn's timeless writing.

There is also a collections of stories professionally recorded that Finn narrated shortly before he died, three hours worth of wonderful listeninjg while commuting or on long drives. Except for the Mau Mau story, none of the stories on the CDs are the same as those in the books.
I have these, and they are a true treasure. Time I pulled them out again.
