This is my new one that I found at a small town gunsow today: FN made in SC 300 wizzum FWT, 2008 limited edition with leupold DD's and leupold VX3 3.5-10x40 with CDS.... :
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Nice....I also recently bought a 2008 Limited Edition in 270 WSM, with nice wood like that. Should be getting it soon.

Those new ones look awesome, I wish they would have went with the old style red recoil pad though.

Nice chunk of tree there bsa1917hunter. I guess I need to keep my eye out for the 2008 ltd editions. Thanks, I've been wanting one for a long time but the right one just hasn't presented itself or I was too late to the dance a couple of times (here in the classifieds). Finally got lucky..

Just noticed my new-old .270 has a strait stock (no hump) I noticed that too. Let me know if you want to trade for my hunter stock I have on my 1951 std weight 30-06. It's even pillar bedded...

Yep, most are. I know how you feel. I couldn't bear to do that to my original stock so I sold it off to someone that would appreciate it for what it was. I just wanted a shooter model 70. I'm not regretfull but have learned and am keeping my 1956 fwt 30-06 all original.....You better hang on to that one, it sure is a beauty!!

Don't feel bad. Mine is that way too. I sold this stock on ebay, what a dummy huh....: It was wrapped in plastic and in a box and I didn't see any use for it since I had mine set up as a shooter and it is the way I like it now:

My new to me 63. 30/06 standard. That is not a mark on the barrel, lint I guess. The bluing has no wear other than from the action being worked a few times. Wood has very few safe marks.
JOC was right. The 270 Winchester on a Model 70 is a great combination as is the 30/06 and 375 H&H

Looks good to me, when I get a buttplate I can move that scope forward a little. Length of pull is a little to long for me.

Model 70 Fwt in 270 made in 1956 & restocked in English Walnut by Sam Marino of Beaumont Tx in the 1960's: Sensational stock! What a beauty!
