BBsteel, That is a really great looking rig - Jon is a great guy to work with and builds some real shooters. He also did a 7mm08 for that turned out awesome. Congrats on a fine build.

2011 build:Remington M1903 Action (not an A3): pristine, never assembled as a .30-06, never fired until 11/2011. Squared, lapped and polished. Wolff Blitzschnell speed-lock 20# firing pin spring Douglas Premium chrome moly #5 contour 24" barrel. Bell & Carlson "Carbelite" customized stock. Bedded (Marine-Tex Gray) and free-floated from barrel pad forward. Trijicon AccuPoint TR-20 w/ Redfield base and Burris "Signature" rings. Timney "feather weight" trigger w/ Remington style side safety Sunny Hill bottom metal w/ hinged floor plate Vanity Engraving Handsome old broad: 250 gr. North Fork soft point @ 2920 fps. First C.O.A.L. yielded a 1.06" 5 shot group (1 M.O.A.)... have yet to try other lengths. Triple Threat: .308 Norma Mag... 180 gr. Barnes TSX @ 3150 fps. .358 Norma Mag... 250 gr. North Fork SP @ 2920 fps. .375 Ruger... 300 gr. Barnes TSX @ 2550 fps. (20" barrel)

I could like having 4 or 5 more:) They sure are smooth and for a lightweight build are about perfect IMHO.

I glanced at the Borden page to see if that Alpine action suited my view of a hunting gun. I noticed that its push feed only. And then this: " Silver brazed on Remington Bolt Handle ." I lost interest then.
Select a rifle hunting cartridge that is "Enough Gun" and not one designed to just wound the enemy!

to bad you will be missing out on a very nice custom action and i bet you would have to beat the handle off with a hammer to get it to loosen up.
