Okay guys, I apologize on the 300 savage. I have read what i wanted to read and have miss interpreted the actual laws. I enjoy trying to make the wildcat rounds and making them work. I appreciate you guys respectfully letting me know my error. If they change it to 30 cal we have an idea on where to go. I heard about the 35 and wanted to try to put more options out there. Keep up the good information guys, I believe we are the experts out here willing to do the grunt work on our personal time to make these rounds possible.

Thanks, that helps. My fired cases are measuring closer to 0.46 if I recall correctly and you necks did get longer. Looks like I need to work do some fire forming of new cases.

Actually, you are not far off from a great round IMHO. I have always thought the 300 Savage was a better starting round than the 308 for an easy IN legal rifle. I was not able to find the info I wanted on the 35 IHSMA (essentially a 35 - 300 Savage)so went the route of 35 Remington.

Rebarrel with a Rem factory contour that measures around 0.66 at the length you want. Then find a reamer or have one made. Have some dies made and your good to go.

A 35-300 Savage is awful close to a 358 Hoosier, which is based off a shortened 358 Win. Dies, reamers, and quite a few gunsmiths to do the work are available. A quick google will turn up lots of info, especially that it's in the public domain.
