Sorry, I should have posted the weights individually for you too -

New Win M70 1pc (stainless) bttm metal = 3.9oz
PT&G Al bttm metal = 2.6oz

Don't have the weight of the 2pc bttm metal, but I remember it to be what you mentioned - almost 4oz heavier than PT&G's aluminum.

TXRam, Thanks for posting the weights. Yes I weighed the Winchester stainless bttm metal again tonight and it is 6.25 ounces. So 3.9 ounces is acceptable to me for this rifle I am putting together.

Sorry for the late replay - mine was long action, aluminum, black matte....

Sounds like PT&G have the L/A stuff made and in stock, but are taking orders for S/A stuff and don't actually have it available until they make a run of it. Well, I am comprimising on the weight and using the stuff from Winchester. It is supposed to be here sometime this week. I'll let you know what they send me.

Yesterday I received my bottom metal from Winchester. Wow! I finally got bottom metal and it looks great. Will miracles never cease. I am at least glad I did not have to go crawling back to PT&G after the way they treated me when I tried to order from them. All that is left now is to wait for my McEdge stock to arrive. I will post the weight results of my rifle when finished. Thanks to all that have posted on this thread. RJ

Is the first part of this the question you were asking?

Floorplate fit
