My handle describes it... one of the last Bombardier/Navigators to fly the Navy A-6E Intruder. Got out as an O-3 in the mid nineties. Agree with what others have said: this thread seems "lost" way down here at the bottom of the forum scroll. Regardless, thank you all for your service.

Intruder BN, loved planting your face in that hood? Like a new penny when we got the NVG versions wasn't it? Maybe we crossed paths, hopefully I didn't 11-1-A-799 you. I usually put reseated connector or something like that with the good officers!

We finally got a call from our son Charlie, he sounds terrible. We did our best to encourage him and ift his spirits. I thank God he's ok and hope they will all come home soon.

God bless you and your boy. Glad your heard from him. Done a few tours here lately and as my boys are growing, couldn't imagine them in harms way. Guess I never thought about the stress put on my family. Anyway, be proud of them and he'll be home soon. Treat him like a hero! BTW my first son is named Charlie also.

Interesting to hear from people who served at Sewart AFB. The TN. NG is using much of the facilities. Some of the base housing is still present. The City of Smyrna has turned it into a low income housing area. mad I've met a former unit commander from Sewart, with the last name of Fitzhugh.
