I'm afraid I have a terminal case...

Been shooting Trad since I was a little kid.
One Jerry Hill longbow, one Seven Lakes longbow, one vintage Bear take-down recurve, two Nirk Rebels, a Ben Pearson Jet longbow, a PSE "pre-Coyote" take-down recurve, and three small fiberglass recurves for kids to shoot.

I'm using aluminum, carbon, and cedar arrows, building my own.

dvdegeorge,

Thanks so much for posting those videos. They were awesome! Howard Hill was THE man. We would all do wise to study his technique. I believe many people have the ability to shoot with such precision if only they mastered the form.

I forgot, I do have a picture of some of mine. My oldest son is worse than me...I don't know how many he has.

Sounds nice. 50lbs will be nice.

Do you have shafts? I have some to get you started if you'd like. Even have barred feathers on them from gobblers I killed. Gratis if you want 'em.

I've owned dozens. I wish my rotor cuff would let me continue to shoot them.

I might have found a cure! Just bought a Toelke Lynx and it was love at first shot so to speak. Don't really have a desire to shoot the others...even put them up for sale. smile

Don't know if I'm addicted, but I've never shot a compound and have no plans to start. Nothing against them, just not for me. My current collection is 8-10 bows, not really sure as some are in storage.

Besides the classifieds here, where does a guy turn up bows? I need a longbow for the Old Lady, and a couple more for the boys would be good too.

Forgot about Roberts sight (used to use his strings exclusively)

Am I the only one that wishes Tradgang didn't funnel all the traffic into the Pow Wow? That has got to be the most disorganized UBB forum I've ever seen. Classifieds there would be great.

There are classified there, most of the way down at the bottom, it's all split up into different cattegories though so takes a little digging.

Yep, I got it. But the wheel bow still has it's place. I like to find the gray btwn the black and white. I like the feeling of trad within 30 yds, beyond that and its a a compound. Trad is like sex without a condom.

Is there any other kind of sex?

Started out with an old wheel bow in the early eighties...think it was a Golden Eagle. After a couple years a buddy turned me on to my first recurve, an old blonde Brackenbury. Was a 70 pounder and wasn't an issue while I was young but it got to be a chore as I got older and I traded it off. Wish I still had that one.

A buddy built my latest and it feeds my addiction. Looking to outfit my oldest son right now and our local shops don't cater to us traditional folks. I want to hold what I'm buying so finding a bow over the internet is a bit daunting. If anyone can recommend a good traditional archery shop in the northeast Oregon area I'd appreciate a heads up. Fox is up in Wallowa county but don't know that I want his first bow to be a high end custom.
