.270 Win./ 150 partition, M700 BDL, Pac-Nor, B&C Mountain rifle stock Backup this year will be the new FN M70 Fwt, 7-08, 140 Accubond, possibly the 120 TTSX.
More than likely be hunting a lot of dark timber, so long range shots will be few and far between.

I would be torn between my M54 Win. in .30-06 with Lyman 48 peep or my Sako .375 H&H with Leopold 3X. The Sako because I haven't shot an elk with it yet.

Waaaaay too soon to commit, when I have all summer to work them all out!

Picked up a new Ruger Hawkeye African in 9.3x62 in a trade here on the 'fire. Haven't shot it yet, but if it shoots up to my expectations, it will go to elk camp with me this year along with my No. 1 in 9.3x74R.

Mine will be a .260 Rem shooting 120gr TSX.
What could be a sadder way to end a life than to die having never hunted with great dogs, good friends and your family?

I'll take the same 2 as last year a 264 and a 35 whelen. It's really hard for mr to pick a favorite out of these two.

Picked up a new Ruger Hawkeye African in 9.3x62 in a trade here on the 'fire. Haven't shot it yet, but if it shoots up to my expectations, it will go to elk camp with me this year along with my No. 1 in 9.3x74R. Oldest son loves his Hawkeye in 35 Whelen! And I know for a fact that the 9.3 x 62 is deadly on elk! While on our spring hawg hunt, I was able to put a few on paper with this years rifle of choice. One of my beloved Krags. However four and a half feet high at 150 yds didn't seem appropriate for a good rifle, and giraffe are not on the menu this year. So, being I was off today, I spent the morning sweating a new front sight ramp on my rifle of choice! Now back to the range! Oh, I just picked up another Model 12 last week so I decided to throw it in the photo too! Bob N.
