Any here using an Interarms Mark X? I just picked one up in 30-06 and don't know much about them other than they are a commercial Mauser 98 design. Looks like a nice solid rifle. Are they accurate rifles in your experience?

I have 2....a .375 H&H and an '06 with the full length stock....the .375 will shoot an inch or less with 270gr tsx....the '06 seems a little more finicky and I don't have a good load for it yet...shoots a little over an inch...hope to do better but still well within minute of deer....I think you will like the rifle...you might have to bed it but I would shoot it first....

Thanks for the replies guys. I have it up for sale since I found a Marlin 44 yesterday, but may have to find a way to keep it now.

My custom 6.5-06AI is based on a Mark X action. It is my preferred 600 yard clay pigeon shooter.

The Mark X rifles can often be found at good prices and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

There were 3 on the rack at Cabela's in Wichita when I stopped there Wednesday. All 30-06 if I remember and none under $400 and none as nice as yours.

There's also one at the Cabela's in KCK. 375 H&H. Synthetic stock and they want $799 for it.

Back in the late 80s early 90s every pawnshop you went into
had 4 or 5 Mark X rifles on the sales rack, now you seldom
see them.

Every M79x I looked at felt like it had sand in the action. Too many good used rifles for the same or less, went that way a couple times. finally satisfied my want of a Mauser action with an Interarms Mark X.

Your right about that, everyone I handled needed the action
polished. I also notice that quite a few of the Mark Xs that
I do lately have been rebarreled and restocked.

I've seen a Mark X action on the used rack a few times for really reasonable prices. Didn't know enough about the action at the time to make a decision.

Not to thread hijack, but how are they weight wise? Heavy? How do they compare to say a CZ550 or Howa 1500?

Personally I like them, when I buy my next medium bore it will be on a Mark X or a whitworth.

I had a Mark X 30/06, sold it for a better mouse trap that wasn't..

Azar, I never weighed the one I had. At a guess I would say they run about the same as a Winchester per caliber.

JOC was right. The 270 Winchester on a Model 70 is a great combination as is the 30/06 and 375 H&H
