Kdoosh, I promise with that new 7Mag you have, you will make a lot more poor shots than you would if you were using an accurate 223. Thats why I have a 243! Dumbass. So in you mind, while it is STUPID to use a .223 on deer, a .243 is a perfectly acceptable choice. You're kidding, right? The 243 is the lowest I will use. I mostly use a 30-06. But I have shot a couple deer with a 243.

.223 will work , but it's overkill ! A real sportsman would us a .22 RF loaded with CB shorts , and not take any shots at less than 100 yds !
