Well, you cant make everbody happy. I am lucky enough to be in the same size range as the Hill bros so everything fits me perfect. 66" girth is almost perfect for me, almost a little bit too small to get the top of the Serape wraped around my shoulders in bag mode. I have tried the quilt method and various quilts, I end up freezing my azz off. I need that full cucoon to keep body heat in and my body parts on the pad. Which is why I am adding a zipper to my Serape where an expander will zip in to make a closed sleeping bag and provide more room. Btw, I am 27" shoulder to shoulder.

Does the schedule for the mountain serape still look like July?

I pretty much lived in my mountain serape the last couple of days. Certainly one of the most versatile pieces of gear a guy could have. I'll try and hang a few pictures in a bit.

Alukban, probably not what you're looking for, but a Dad defintely isn't the first priority in the hospital...

Had to get my new Sherpa taken care of and he really likes to burrow for warmth when nothing else is handy. My apoligizes now to HPG for a blatant misuse of their products...

Congratulations on the future hunting pardner, and thanks for sharing the photos. smile

Those are the best product pictures I've seen in a while!

I've got a satisfactory US made production sample in my hands as of two days ago. Based on that milestone, I'll be sorely disappointed if it takes until July to have them in stock.

Evan, if was smart enough to do so I would have hung them on the facebook page as well. The warmth to weight of this thing is amazing. It will flat cook you if it's not pretty darn cold. Should cover 90 percent of the weather as a coat and sleeping bag in this part of the world.

I got my Doobie Xpress last week.

It's only 1.4 lbs.

Wow, that's pretty cool. My regular express came in at 17 ounces, which I thought was pretty light, but a few more ounces and double the insulation sounds good too. What did you think of the size overall? It's bigger than I thought - I like the fact that it completely covers my(bent) legs while sitting.

Sitting as in a sitting shooting position. If you undo the little front strap thing it just drapes all around you like a tent. I was pleasantly surprised because I expected it to maybe get to my knees.

I love the size. It's big enough to envelop any piece of winter clothing I could possibly have on but is still short enough that I can crouch down to tend to a fire or pick up gear and it won't be touching mud and dirt (do #1 or #2 also with it on). It goes just about below my crotch area when worn. As a blanket, it can cover more of your height if you use the diagonal. I'm usually a side sleeper wih my knees bent so the length is great for me. It's summer now so I obvioulsy can't tell you how warm it is and how well it protects from the cold. A cell phone pic in the mirror is the best I can do until the fall.

This thing is good looking enough to wear in areas "other than the woods" and you won't look like you stole your grandma's mu-mu or comforter wink As a matter of fact, I dare say I'd look rather handsome if I wore this while riding a horse - very "bandito" grin It seems to go very well with my Canadian Tuxedo cool

It's getting colder enough now to start playing with the Doobie Xpress that I got in July. It is very light and moves with you. You can squat, draw a holstered weapon, etc and still get very good coverage. Use it like a mexican poncho and you are GTG. It definitely has enough material to use as a blanket for ground sleeping, semi-fetal position. It will extend the temperature range of my 20 Slick bag this winter without adding "bag only bulk".

I have been using mine as an underquilt to a Claytor Mosquito Hammock. I velcro'd it to the bug net and use the hammock upside down. The bug netting holds it next to your body and removes gaps but, at the same time, does not overly compress the thing.

The Xpress is very nearly the same width as the Claytor hammock.

That hammock thing you rigged is pretty clever.

I used mine on an archery hunt in southern CO the last week of august and it was great. I used it as my pillow, threw it in my daypack and used it as a cushion at lunch etc, and put it on when I stepped out of the tent every morning. I even wore it on stand one morning when we were stationary. Overall a very versatile piece of equipment - it will be on my next hunt, for sure.

It's actually the perfect size as an overquilt for a hammock also because I can't help but usually be curled up in a hammock and thus don't need anything much bigger.

I may get another one because it so flexible in use. I wonder if one can then velcro two pieces together to make a regular, ultra-wide sleeping bag! Whoaa - never thought of that possibility before! wink
