It has less blast and noise but most importantly, I like the inherit accuracy potential.
I have accurate 223s and 22-250s but I really want this project to shoot lights out. I am really hoping for a 1/4" 100 yard gun or better with match loads. This combo is looking like a 23", #2 contour bbl in a Mt. Rifle stock. I hope to shoot 45-55 grain bullets well. What twist rate should I go with to maximize the 222? I am thinking 1:12 but is the 1:14 better? What say you?

JRS, a custom 223 in a field gun will shoot just as well as a 222, with the exception the 223 will be shooting a LOT faster. I have had a buch of 222's. The custom 223 with a minimum spec match chamer with a 1-14 or 1-12 twist will in deed shoot 1/4" groups if you have the expertise to shoot these small groups.
