Just finished converting my Model Seven to ADL and sticking it in a Bansner/HTS stock. I went with a LOP of 13.75"
now weighs 6# 6oz as you see it... 6.5# with 4 loaded rounds
The finished Bansner with a 0.6 Pachmayr 750 weighs 24 oz while the plastic factory stock weighed ~38 oz. Also swapped out the firing pin assembly for a PTG.
I lost a round in the belly going to ADL... If I had to do it all over again I don't know if I'd go ADL on a Seven since the front trigger guard screw ends up needing some meat to grab and takes up a bit of room in the belly. I'm not a fan of the Seven factory bottom metal though. If I could have found a deal on a 700 before the Seven I'd happily go ADL and will on my 223 build.
This was my first adventure in glass bedding and I successfully didn't glue my action to the stock
I don't suggest doing it at 9:30 PM though it was a rough night dreaming I had messed it up
I love the ergos of the Sheep Hunter Bansner in the buttstock.
I don't love the forend of the Bansner for the Seven...
It is longer and fatter than the 700 Bansner...
Painted it with Aluma-hyde II Parkerized Grey, a layer of Rustolium texture, another layer of Aluma-hyde, then a layer of Krylon Satin. It feels much like the Montana stocks. I think I'm going to like it... now to take it to the range and find some time to find a bear!
