its not a rebored rifle barrel it has the notch for the barrel clamp in front of the forearm that you tightened to hold it on. the forearm takedown stud was added to a regular 410 barrel.

Gotcha. I didn't scroll down far enough (or those pics weren't there when I looked at it).

There are many greenhorns out there, a seller with almost 3K in feedback should be ashamed! To me it says he has at least 6,000 transactions. The buttplate looked honest?

I would not feel sorry fore someone with enough money to pay that much for a piece of junk. just a couple rich Dumbazzez showing off.

We don't know that the buyer wants anyone to feel sorry for him. I am just back from Las Vegas and although I don't gamble, it was easy to see people throwing away a lot more than this guy spent. Despite the problems this rifle has, I would rather have it over handing money over to a casino. It's all a matter of perspective

And that pretty much sums this whole game up!

I tried to tell the seller that it was not what he though it was but you know some of the people on gunbroker. You just can't tell them a damm thing

What he did seems to have worked well for him. He sold it at a very high price. Who knows, maybe the buyer will be thrilled as well

I don't endorse what the seller did. He obviously received information correcting him and he ignored it. I have seen this type behavior among certain dealers and sellers for decades - long before the internet. I recall one gunshop I frequented. Back when there was Shotgun News and Gun List as the main way firearms were sold (from a distance). The dealer there had a vintage collectable firearm with the wrong sight but advertised it as all original. He sold it, they sent it back, he sold it again, it got sent back. This happened three or four times. A friend of mine asked him, "why don't you put in your ad that it has the wrong sight? He responded, "because eventually someone is going to buy it who doesn't know that's the wrong sight." This is not behavior I endorse. This particular dealer however had a long career and was successful. One thing he did do is honor inspection priviledges and would promptly refund money when someone sent something back. I suppose many buyers were happy to get their money returned promptly and that took the sting out of it. Anyway, "caveat emptor" - tons of money is made out there based on a lack of knowledge.

who is anyone on the internet to tell the seller what is right and wrong and what validation do you provide to the seller to make him assume that you have expertise???? And not some interested buyer that wants him to tell ppl that its all jacked up so you can get it cheap.
Likewise, I have seen sellers on GB that post up everything they are told by experts on GB and seen advertisements get cluttered full of even more inaccurate crap.
I'm just playing the devil's advocate but I could give two [bleep] if the seller lists the ad with all sort of bad info... I know what is right and wrong, if someone else wants to spend their money, they should as well or deal with the repercussions.

I agree with you Drew and again, it comes down to caveat emptor. But I also am someone who endorses ethical behavior. I care about the future of our hobby area and hate to see new people get burned. Our hobby area is really no different than other collectables - one can just as easily get burned on collectable cars, coins, stamps, gemstones and the like. It is a greedy world out there filled with people who will say (or write) anything to get a buck. Gunshows are rife with this and the crap I have heard from the other side of the tables (e.g. "factory engraved by Conrad Ulrich") could fill a book. This is why we advise beginners to learn as much as they can before they start opening their wallets. A great place to learn is this forum. In fact, some of the threads that have been the most controversial (e.g. critiques of rifles that have been considered too harsh) have been of the most educational. Drew, by the way, I do agree with the point you made about sellers receiving corrections from others - how do they know these are people that know what they are talking about? I know often people will comment that they wrote a seller to advise them of an error they made and despite that the seller didn't change their description. And I also have seen where seller's have made adjustments to their descriptions based on erroneous feedback. Again, I appreciate that you made this point.

The seller has other things going for more than I would pay, he seems to have a knack at selling. a lot of his items have bids, more than the usual seller has. I am keeping his site on my computor to see if the .410 savage returnes.

It will also be interesting to watch and see if there is feedback left for this particular item This seller's items do see a lot of action but this is typical of seller's who start items at a penny with no reserve. That really is the way to sell something.

Feedback is up for the .410. Looks like this one won't be relisted!

Happy seller and happy buyer it would appear.

There's an ass for every seat, as I've heard said around here. Or as a friend of mine used to say: "Even Hitler found a girlfriend."

I hope the seller didn't have his sights set on flipping it. Even though I am a collector and look at most things from that perspective, I have to say this rifle doesn't make much sense to buy as a hunter. If the magazine were functional I would feel a lot different about it. I like .410 single-shots but very sleek, lightweight ones. I used to own a petite little H&R takedown .410 and that was like a feather in the hand.
