I'm about ready to spray my poly prime on the main body.
One more cleanup in the engine bay and a shot of epoxy in there, then a little masking and I'm ready to shoot the heavy stuff for blocking.
Something clever here.

your energy inspires me Dave. to take a nap.
When your finished with your bird, I have a little 'glass car that needs a few weeks of wet sanding...

believe me, I'm fresh out of energy.
In typical dave fashion, I've charged forward to the point at which I can see light at the end of the tunnel... then I start dragging my feet. I'm out of ambition, pretty much entirely.

LOOKING GOOD Sir, keep up the pictures so at least I can enjoy the experience vicariously through them. Like the engine compartment, pretty damn good for leaving the motor in.

Yeah it's not real precise work anywhere quite yet, especially the engine bay as you can see by the garbage bag masking.
Before I spray color anywhere things will get a litle more precise.

Can hardly wait Dave, your work is impressive to say the least Sir.
And I masked many a car with old newspapers and bags back in the day.

And thank you, you're too kind. This was good work to get done tonight but it's a bit like "rough framing" stages of construction. lol!
Basically I laid the polyester primer on as heavy as I could because I'll be block sanding a good amount of it off the car prior to the final primer stage.
Then, finally I will be able to spray some color.

So...you spray a bunch of stuff on just to sand it off again?

That is the best way to get a smooth finish, glazing putty is very poor sub for a good base.

So...you spray a bunch of stuff on just to sand it off again? Pretty much. It's all about leveling a surface at this point. When I am done block sanding this out I have chosen a 2k urethane primer as my final primer/sealer before spraying base coat.

Good to see progress, Dave. Great work, as always.
