Why? Because the BATF designates these as military. I guess they don't understand that the Second Amendment's purpose is to assure a parity between civilian arms and those held by the military. There is no limit on the magazine capacity of a flintlock, just like in 1787 when the Constitution was adopted. Parity was their purpose, a purpose well served by the plain meaning of the words they chose, so your point is moot.

I'd like to see the ATF banned.
I know of nothing they do that is productive.

In order to have parity, don't I need about 7,000 nuclear weapons? Any idea where IA can buy them - local army surplus store maybe? Nukes are useful between nations as a deterrence to invasion, but of little use to those seeking to toss out tyrants from their own nation, which was the purpose for the Second Amendment.

I know of nothing they do that is productive. +1 And, besides, their purpose is unconstitutional, since any restriction on a thing is by definition an infringement.

And here I thought you wanted to nuke all the politicians in DC. My mistake.

Hawk, I guess you'd like to ban traffic lights too. they are not mentioned in the Constitution and, they certainty restrict my driving when I have to stop.

Is it your contention that the states were limited to only those powers delegated to the United States Government by the US Constitution? On what basis do you come to this conclusion?
