and Im quite impressed!! Got the MOA-2 reticle, has plenty of ER, very well built, havent directly compared it to my Burris Sigs but looks pretty damn good from the viewing I did before I had to leave for work, uber impressed with the MOA-2 reticle, cant wait to mount it on my first custom F-Class rifle.

I think my next optic will be the SIII 6-24 Tactical. The Sightrons are really coming on as great optics.

I'm running a Nightforce 8-32X56 on my 7mmWSM F-Class open gun, great scope, looking forward to comparing the two. See if there is a $1000 difference.

Thats what swayed me over to the Sightron,(from a Nightforce) I read a review where the guy mentioned it was as good as his Nightforce, this other fellow sent his March back after comparing it to his new Sightron.:)

I haven't looked through a Sightron yet, but placing it above a March scope seems a little too good to be true. I've got a March 1-10x24 Tactical scope and the glass in it is second to none; it's phenomenal.

Gorskij what are the clicks like on the sightron tactical turrets? Nice and positive? Any concern about them getting inadvertantly twisted in transport?

Any chance of a through-the-scope pic of the reticle?

Gentlemen,

When I compared the Nightforce 12-42X56 with the Bushnell 6500 4 1/2-30X50 on the tree leaves, bark and twigs about 150 yards away I could tell no difference in ability to discern detail.

But when I made the line chart with 1/4" lines and 1/4" spaces and compared them I included a Swarovski z5. In order to see the detail of individual lines and spaces the Nightforce displayed on 12X at 521 yards the Bushnell had to be set on 15 1/2X while the Swarovski needed 16 1/2X. If I didn't turn the other two up all I saw was a grey rectangle.

If you guys who have two brands would compare them on some kind of eye chart and get back to us with your findings we would be greatly delighted.

I will say this; VAnimrod is mightily impressed with the Sightron line and he's one of the few men on here that I take will his word for fact.

When people say they their glass is as good as a Nighforce, etc......I consider that above average, nothing more nothing less. In other words Nightforce glass is very good, but far from outstanding IMO. A VX6 is noticeably better, a VX3 just as good to my eyes.

1/4moa clicks & Very positive clicks, they do seem to turn somewhat easily, but they look like they will lock by using a torx head like wrench provided. This is the best I could do for a picture of the reticle, turned out good I think.

I stand corrected, the screw is for re-setting to zero. zero as normal, unscrew screw, pull up knob, align 0,tighten screw. If youre careful you shouldnt have any problems with the knobs, no different than any other scope i suppose, youll love this scope, its awesome.

Agreed, but I'd add, I dont buy Nightforce scopes for their glass. While it's more than adequate to get the job done, I buy Nightforces because they're tough and utterly reliable. Add in the Zero Stop and it's a deal sealer for me.

And I should add, there are zero flies on the Sightrons. I've owned three of them, two 8-32x56 SIIIs and a 6x42 Big Sky. All excellent optics!

MOA/MOA or MIL/MIL is the only way to go.

Mil reticle and MOA knobs make my head hurt.
