Heading off on a afternoon adventure that'd have the KK's (or Roadhuntin' Buttshot Boxer) quailing in their pointy little boots... more to follow... just gotta get this damn C P'd loose from my C first......

I must admit, they sure beat pics of Goat Chit.....

Done the initial hike in; about to drop off the edge of the world here... dunno if a pic can do it justice but I'll try. Seriously steep and recently logged but I can still see the old trail I used to use to get down it all the other times I've done this b!tch of a hike... Then back up & out the "waterfall trail" which will be interesting as a section of it was obliterated by logging as well recently. That is thigh-poundingly steep as well. Then about 1.5 miles back to the truck on the logging road.

Cool thing is, this takes me by a steel plate conveniently hung by some wiity, enterprising, handsome young lad a couple weeks ago!

[bleep], best look away. This could be a bit outdoorsy for your Kube butts.

From where I am now. In a (very) roundabout way I will end up at that far bald knob there.... then the walk back to the truck.

Thinking next year I'm gonna try and bang a bear with a Tikka .223. I don't want to be over-gunned with the likes of a .223AI and don't want the second half of my slippers ruined.

Quite the day. I think a description of it in it's entirety might be a bit much for the Kubesters. I took a bunch of pics.

I call it the waterfall trail because it has a small waterfall. Nothing fancy... but a cool thing to have stumbled on a decade or so ago when I started tromping this area.









I took a leak in it, so that the downstream Kube [bleep] could get a whiff of what urine that doesn't have estrogen in it smells like...


Oh hey Chas- you know that frikkin' thunderstorm that came through?! Yeah, I was stuck in a clearcut for the whole damn thing!

I don't drink soda but I'll take a well made burger. That is a cakewalk seeing I have knocked off a few 14ers, the AT, and parts of the PCT I am pretty damn sure I can handle it.

You get the lightning up on the landing? On a lighter note looks like I might get a 4-6 month severance package, in between the "networking", looks like I'm going to have some mid-week opportunities. Interested in bass fishing?

In all seriousness, we'd do a lot of vertical in the southern Rockies growing up. Good stuff. The Coast Range in Oregon is podunk in scale, but not necessarily steepness, by comparison BUT the vegetation and organic matter on the ground are simply unfathomable if you haven't BTDT.... At least they were for me, coming from a Rockies and southwestern high desert perspective.

I'm going to try to hit that conditioning hike/LR shoot once a week all summer and would love company if any of the lurkers want a good workout.

I had my anvil nippers with me. I was wishing I had a machete. The trail is FUBAR down by the valley bottom and it was some tedious chit getting through the salmonberry & vine maple. It'll be easier next time as I did clean it up a bunch on the first pass.

Can't remember if I mentioned this already but I fell about 4 feet into a rotted-out culvert from lord knows when. That sucked. I was lucky I landed mostly on my left leg as my right hip is the torn up one and it'd be exploding on me today if I'd hit it with that kind of impact.

The shooting was interesting. I was at 615 yards, and there was enough of an updraft to confound me until I figured it out.

Well...I'm always open to pointers, but I've been pry'n for 50 years now...more in the last 5 years, but I manage...
