Was out a couple of wks ago w/ JD338 and shot this 110 gr NAB through my Roy into dry plone books at close range. I'd just chrono'd the load @ 3512 fps & the 'graph was about the same distance from the muzzle as the books.

It penetrated through the 4th book, breaking the cover of the 5th. The wound channel, particularly in the first two, was impressive. Retained weight was just under 59 gr or approx 54%.

What? I thought they called them Accubombs for a reason laugh

I might have to look into them again, as my rifle shot them very well!

EFW,

If you have any TTSX, could you do the same test? IF you dont have any, could I send you one or two just to see how it compares, along with a Scirocco II?

I'd be very interested in the TSX and SSII results as well.

I have gotten very good results form 30 cal 180 gr ballistic tips at 300 rum velocities, including two that broke major bone going in at a 3300fps IMPACT velocity.

efw.....

I have used the 110's in both the 257 Roberts and 25-06 on deer and they have performed well. I have recovered a bullet shot out of each cartridge from deer and they looked much like your example shot into the phone books. Both deer were shot at roughly 225 yards hitting major bones in both cases with the bullet from the 25-06 weighing 54.8 grains and the bullet from the Bob 65.5 grains.

Yeah I have TTSX & Etips but didn't think I could stop em w/ the 6 books I had.

Batue: 24" barreled Vangard running a VERY hot load I intend to tame down. I was doing initial load testing and figured while I was at it I'd see what those ABs could stand up to. Pretty impressive.

I've shot one deer with the 110 gr AB at 3400 fps out of my 257 Wby. 80 yard shot through both shoulders but not the shoulder bone itself. Exit wound was about an inch in diameter and the heart was pulverized. Only a sample of one but very nice performance.

I have use the 25-06 a lot an with the 100 gr pro hunter or Federal pre. with 117 gr the last 2 years .Don' t see much difference in killing power complete pass thru on deer out to 300 yards so what more do you need .Take the 25-06 an don't look back
