Romney is not my first pick. I was (and am) a Ron Paul supporter. But, I will be voting for Mitt. The man has integrity and charity. Two qualities that most men do not have, especially politicians.
I disagree a lot with him on foreign policy and some social issues, but I feel like he will be a large leap forward with regard to the economy. Ron Paul would be better of course ;), but Romney will be good.

He wasn't my first choice for the nominee, mostly because I felt he'd be a weak candidate. Recently, however, he has been taking the fight to Obama which I'm glad to finally see out of a republican candidate. The media's infatuation with Obama and their obvious left wing slant makes it extremely hard for any republican candidate to get any positive momentum going. After McCain's half-assed campaign it's good to see Romney getting aggressive early, that's what it's going to take if he's going to end run the extreme media bias in this country.
I don't have reservations about the man's character. I believe he's a generally decent man (as decent as any politican can be) who wants what's best for the country. There's certainly no comparison between him and Obama, and those are the two we have to pick from.

The truth is that he is clean and you would be hard pressed to find a better man and a better candidate. I think that on the basis of his track record, we can trust that he would be an extraordinary POTUS. Thus I hope he will be elected and I expect you to vote for him. Whether you or I would like him better if he were slightly different is irrelevant. PS - Have you read how he took charge when the daughter of a Bain Capital colleague went missing in the New-York jungle?
Is it too ambitious or too naive to look for an honest politician? Or simply a useful one?
