...it arrived a day early, looks fantastic and I can't wait to head to the range. Pac-Nor lapped and trued the action and installed the 8 twist, five groove super match barrel chambered in 260 Remington, six flutes, bead blasted and contoured to match the factory barrel. I have 123gr Scenars, 120gr Ballistic Tips and 130gr Accubonds to play with. For now I plan to use a Zeiss 3x9 with turrets, if I save my pennies for a McMillan Ultralight I will probably go all the way and swap the scope for a VX-3 2.5X8 in Talley lightweights. It should be a light kicking sweetheart compared to my 300WSM with 208 A-Max's

Pretty cool... I'd buy one if Winchester made it.

Thank you!
I did not mention it above but the barrel is still 22" and the Pac-Nor flutes are much deeper than the factor 70 flutes.

You did very well...P-N does good work, 260 = great round, look fwd to range reports. I think you will enjoy this rifle very much, and certainly yes, it's low recoil vs. your 30 cal. If you do go VX3, I'd put a CDS or M1 on that glass... H4350 and 123s shot under .2 in my custom fwiw...the only thing that I might have done different, when PN made my first '260' it was 6 months before Rem did their Saami, so it was a 6.5-308 WIN on the bbl...might have been well suited for that M70 They practically interchange, at least the reamer print that I had from Chris at PN vs. the one I rec'd from Rem's ammo plant in Lonoke. None the less, it will be considered a std. round so all kidding aside, you did well. Congrats!

Very nice. You should be shooting "bughole" groups with that beauty.....
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

I like it as well. Can't imagine a better whitetail, caribou, sheep, goat, black bear and even elk rifle.

Very nice. Let us know how it shoots! You got in time to get it ready for some fall hunting.

Very nice! You going to do take out the mag spacer and work the ejector/boltstop for the longer OAL's?
Now with even more aplomb

I don't know how much it weighs yet, probably about the same as stock with the deeper flutes but smaller bore.
I have not thought about removing mag box spacer, I need to check the OAL with the bullets on hand but I have been working like a madman this week.

Such a great do-it-all cartridge. Varmints to Moose and steel plates at any distance.
Nice choice in rounds.
If I were smart enough, which apparently I'm not

Now that would be a really useful rifle. Winchester should take notice.
