they seem to kick more than any other rifle i have shot, with the same calibers, and they seem to be not accurate shooters, like tikka, sako, kimber remington, browning, savage.just my opinion.

I feel the same about Remingtons. I would rather shoot my Ruger 338 than my friends Remington 308. That things will kill on one end and cripple on the other and I'm not sure which end I'm on. My Ruger has killed 4 elk in the three years that I've had it at ranges up to 300 yards so I can't complain about the accuracy. No it's not going to win any bench rest competitions but that's not what I got it for.

Just accept that with some people the only way they know to praise one thing is to run down something else. Chevy fans will try to tell you how good their truck is by running down Fords (and vice versa), Democrats will try to tell you how good their ideas are by running down the ideas of Republicans (and vice versa), and CZ (or Tikka, Savage, Marlin, etc) fans will try to tell you how good their rifles are by running down Ruger (or Remington, Winchester, Browning, etc.)

No product is perfect, and I think we would all learn a lot more if people would confine themselves to explaining what they like about their choice without resorting to distortions and misprepresentations about the competition.

Yes, I think there is bit of that involved.

OK, as to the point of the 77/22 barrel clamping method - no one has yet come farward to explain the disadvantages it has over threading,(on a .22 rimfire) so I'll take that point as being settled...there ar none. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

BTW. thanks to everyone for the response so far, it's been very interesting.

Redneck,

I shot the attached group about 10 years ago with my .243 RSI. Thanks...Bill.

Nothin' wrong with that..

I don't recall ever getting a Ruger in because the guy whined about accuracy. The absolute main issue re: Rugers has been the lawyer trigger. Solve that problem and for the most part, you've got a decent shooter.
