I picked up a real nice used Marlin 881 tube feed yesterday. The walnut stock has a lot of figure. It needs a trigger job.

Most do need a trigger job, you should not have a problem with accuracy though.

I think I'll put a Nikon 4X Rimfire on it. I have some Leupold split rimfire rings.

I put a Rifle Basix trigger in my 882 and have never looked back...

I put 1/2 of a spring from a Papermate ball point pen behind the trigger and it's now 2 lbs. I also coated the sear surfaces with Gun-Slick. It's a lot better.

5 shots at 25 yards Remington bulk Goldens. Shot some clay targets at 140 yards. Needs a better scope.

I was doing them before you were potty trained, and I'll be doing them when a fat ugly nurse is wiping your butt.

Very nice. Thanks for the link as well. I might have to get one of those and do the same thing.

Too bad you can only try to elevate yourself by putting others down. You're a small man.

You're the one who brags about being a "professional gunsmith" all the time. And then you do a mickey mouse pen spring and gunslick trigger job. What a hoot !

Why waste time doing anything else? It worked perfectly and took 5 minutes. If I ever sell the rifle it will be easy to return to a condition that is liabiliy proof. I've never bragged about anything. This was shared to help others who may not be gunsmiths.

Because the rifle will never shoot to it's potential with all that mushy overtravel left in the trigger. I've done a boatload of those Marlin triggers and a spring replacement won't bring them close to what they can be with a bit of stoning and installation of an overtravel stop screw.

You ain't no [bleep]' gunsmith and that's for sure and for certain. I doubt like hell you've ever even seen a truly "good shot" much less ever been one outside of a dream.

Been a gunsmith for many many years. Been a good shot since I was 6 when I bought my first Remington 514 rifle for $10.00. Perhaps as you get older these are skills you could learn. Talk to your parents and let them know your interest. Keep shooting that .22 until your old enough to get a real rifle.

If YOU need to boast about your prowess as a gunsmith or marksman, I question your abilities at either.
