I just picked up a western field model 43 with a mossberg model M4c scope on it,it also has the peep sights,looks to be in very nice condition and the trigger feels really good,any info on when made and are they worth anything? thanks,Kurt
There are a lot more ½" rifles than ½" shooters.

It is a Mossberg M-43. No collector value. If you like it and it shoots ok, then enjoy it. It apparently wasn't a standard Mossberg item because I can't find it listed anywhere. Probably just made for Montgomery-Ward. (Western Field was the M-W store brand). If anything breaks you probably won't be able to find parts. Probably 1950s-60's. Good luck.

I dont know nothing about a WF-43, but the tighest pattern shotgun I ever saw was a pump WF with a 32" full choke.

thanks guys,it looks like a sweet little gun,will find out if it shoots good in a couple of days...
