I posted a few weeks back about problems getting my Christensen Arms Hunter in 7mm Rem Mag sighted in, thinking at first it was the scope and/or mounts. Then I realized the barrel was not straight, it was about 1/4" off at the muzzle, side to side, when running a straight edge down the sides of the receiver.
I talked to Christensen a couple of weeks ago and although the person I spoke to doubted my claim that the barrel wasn't straight, they advised me to ship it in which the store I bought it from did.
I talked to Christensen today and sure enough, the barrel wasn't straight.
They replaced the barrel and trued the receiver while headspacing the new barrel.
I hope it groups as well with the new barrel as it did with the bent one (.400" 3 shot group at 100 yards).

I received the rifle back from CA with the new barrel and started the break in process. With less than 20 rounds through it I was able to get this 3 shot group at 100 yards with factory Hornady ammo.

About a month ago I was at the range here and the guy in front
of me was sighting in a Christensen Arms rifle in 300 win mag.
He said his rifle wouldn,t group when he got it. The groups
would walk across the target as the barrel heated up. He
sent it back and paid a thousand more for a target barrel.
Got it back and it did the same thing. Finally he purchased
another stock from someone else and the problem went away.
He wasn,t very happy with Christensen Arms.

GunTruck50- that makes me nervous. Will take it out with one load and make sure that doesn't happen.

Lawdwaz- unsure how it happened, sometime before it came into my possession. Glad they made it right.

It seemed to shoot ok after the new barrel and stock.

I would guestimate the barrel warped durning the turning process. The barrels on the Carbon barrels make Remingtons pencil barrels look fat. Now once they're wrapped it's ok but taking that much metal can do weird things. Adam
