A local shop has a Kimber of Oregon, in .270. Real nice wood. Anyone have one? What are the base and ring options.

Some KofO Model 89s had integral bases, others required bases. Warne currently lists their Weaver style Maxima regular and extension bases for the 89. I think the early Warne rings fit the integral bases and they had compatible bases for the others then as well. Talley has and may still offer mounts too. More details on the 270? Barrel say Clackamas or Colton? There's a few Kimber of Oregon fans around. The top pics show an 89 BGR African. A lot of love and sweat went into shaping those stocks. Production rifles, not customs... The bottom pic is a pretty sweet looking 280 Classic.

Shadowline cheekpiece Super America or a Classic? Better check out the auction sites for price comparison. This 280 Classic is at a Cabelas for $1500. Good luck.

When I mentioned a Kimber of Oregon in 30-06 with nice wood at the E. Hartford Cabelas someone here said that there had been problems with those rifles?
They were asking about $1,100 for the one here and that's kind of high I thought anyway?

Once again, Dogzapper has the full scoop on these later KoO rifles.
It pains me to say it since my early KoO M84 is well nigh perfect but these M89 BGR's were produced late in the existence of KoO and when KoO was already experiencing financial difficulties. It seems that an inordinate number of the M89's reflected the state of the company at the time and were slipshod in their construction.
You may very well be looking at a fine example but the chances of it being a POS are pretty high.

Yeah, I thought he was out of line one the price. I'm gonna pass on this one. I'd buy another Cooper all day long,at that price.
