I am in bad need of info. Recentally purchased a rifle that had a Simmons Whitetail Classic 1.5--5 x20 W.T.C. 11...It is really a clear nice looking little scope.
Has their granite finish but the only info I can get tells me this is an Air Rifle scope!!!
If anyone can tell me about this scope and maybe value I would really appreciate it. Thanks, Joe

Do you have an air rifle?

It's probably worth around $50, but would probably go better on a 22 as I've read most air guns will wreck them.

Doubletap I do not own an air rifle. In my research on this scope I have discovered it is big in England for use on air rifles. I think it is curious that an air rifle can be more distructive than a center fire.
We may all be coming to air rifles. In the people's Rebublic of California they have out lawed the use of lead bullets in most of the state so many of my ground squirrels shootin' friends have gone to air rifles...they are not classified as a "gun" so they can shoot lead pellets. Go figure.
Thanks to you and javman for your input on my post. Joe

If it's one of the Phillipines scopes, it's likely an ok one, probably on par with a Nikon Pro Staff. Not a piece of junk, but nothing to brag about, either. Only ones I have experience with are the 3.5-10 WC scopes Natchez still has in stock.

A buddy of mine had one on a 270win. This scope was junk. It had moisture on the inside of the scope on the inside part of the lens. The moisture made the center part of the lens unusable. He replaced this scope with a VXII 3-9x40mm...

A friend has a couple of the WTC scopes that I've gotten to play with some, but none in that power range. His are the Philippine made ones, and they have been great. If it's made in the Philippines I wouldn't hesitate to use it. If it's made in China, I'd be a little more skeptical, but it still isn't likely to be as bad as many people online would lead you to believe.
