IMO you already have the best, but most people put a premium on accuracy over all else, which is why the ARs are so popular. If you think you have a parts problem now (I sincerely doubt you do, Im betting you have an accessories problem), just wait till you pick your AR-10 and find out many of the parts are proprietary to your particular maker. The AR-10 is not nearly as reliable as the FAL and I strongly prefer the balance and handling of the FAL. True the AR will cut groups in half over a FAL, but Ive never actually MISSED anything I was shooting at with a FAL, so how accurate do you need? Chances are, just more accurate than the guy at the next bench.

For a range toy, AR-10 all the way. For a serious fighting rifle, its FAL then all that other crap.

The FAL is all you ever need

I am not concerned about hitting a quarter at 400 yards

I am concerned about hitting a haji at 400 and my FAL will more than handle that wink

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.
