Safari..

Nice rifle but you are wrong about the history of it's name.
The "S" designation stands for SUPERGRADE.

I bought one of these guns in 1982 after sorting through 10 of them at Tulsa Gun and Pawn who at the time was one of Greg Warne's largest Kimber dealers. Mine cost $650 of my hard earned 1982 dollars.

I loved my old "S" grade, it had sunburst crotch grain in the buttstock+ and was a real shooter once I glass bedded it. I had a lot of fun shooting it prone alongside the 10 lb+ Anschutz and Remington bull guns at my college rifle range against the Nerds on the rifle team..

I won a lot of beer money with that little Kimber. grin

Seeing your rifle brings back fond memeories..

Good luck with your listing..

I sold an Anschutz 64 heavy after I picked up a Kimber 82 sporter off of the fire a couple years back. Great little rifles. I would be very much interested in one of the magizines if you would part with it.
