Will Munny: It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have.
The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.
Will Munny: We all got it coming, kid.

Are you sure? Maybe we can get the PoohBah to clear this up, he's an expert on gay stuff...

I heard those things make you gay... No you goose, not gay...grey. It is all that shooting that you do when you have a 7x57...it wears you out.
These are my opinions, feel free to disagree.

Ummmmm.... signature says it all. .257 wthby with 115gr NBT or 100 TSX, depending on where the whitetail lives that i am hunting. Big ones up north get the X, the lil ones down south can have the NBT.

Sorry, guys but too much variance in climates where whitetails can be found. Here, lots of folks use the 06/270/7mm RMs but I can make a case for a dbl 4570 or a 35 remington or a 300 or your choice. Same as in the rest of NA - but if forced to choose it would be the 06.
The way life should be.

280 Remington or a 7X57 or a 308 or a 30-06 or a 270 or a 5.56x45 or a 5.45X39 or a 303 Brit or a 7.62X54R, etc.
280 Rem is my first choice.

I looked it up and whoever said 260 Rem was correct.

Well I currently shoot a 6.5 x 55 7 x 57 7mm RM, and a 338. Those are all bolt action guns, my 30-06 is a Remington 760. With the kind of deer hunting I have been doing the last decade or so, a 30-30 would be as good as anything. Thou a 223 or 243 would do as well. You guys must be really bored. I am waiting for Nov 1 . The deer are out and about and its cooling off nicely, soon there will be venison loin chops in my black iron pan.

I agree and tempts me every year to go out with the Marlin but I continue to pickup the 7mm-08 instead. Coolin off, its down right cold this morning A couple of more weeks
