In a 26 or 27" tube yes. But, I sure wouldn't go there with a 23 or 24 or 22...

3100's a good number for it, and if one can't get it done via 31 well then, you get my drift...grin

I'm ballistically gacking in my head over the next build, a long range coues rifle...

I know you and your style G, wasn't pickin on ya.

4 whatever reason I see more people leaning on 6.5's than most any other caliber. Excepting maybe the 223 Ack....grin

I've found a 140 berger cruising along at 2870 fps to be light recoiling and far reaching in a 7 pound rig. Pretty much rendered everything else I used to second fiddle. No need to hot rod.

Ditto that, albeit my .270 is a skosh bit heavier than 7 lbs all up... cool

Glad I found this thread. I'm drooling over a 6.5-06 built on a Sako A7 donor! I absolutly love them long assed 140's in the 6.5. 130-140vlds sure would be alot of fun to mess [bleep] up with. As a huge .260 fan I'm leaning more and more towards the 6.5-06. This would definately leave me with no reason to own another .270!! =)
