The difference between airplane pilots and rotorheads is not that they cannot land on the side of a mountain, but how many times they can do so.

Point taken! I know that private aviation airplanes do not "do well" when they clip light stanchions on the side of the interstate....drive past a double fatality on I-93 in NH 2 days ago where the beech bonanza clipped a light pole and nosed into the interstate at a high rate of speed...160 was a number I heard...83 year old pilot and his 83 year old wife DOA. Wife stayed with the craft, the poor bastard allegedly piloting got ejected approx. 100+ yards into the woods along highway. Miraculously no ground vehicles were hit but it was close. I guess when you shear a wing, your ability to glide is greatly hindered....

This would be uncontrolled flight into terrain.

That's preferable to "controlled flight into terrain." That one always makes you look really stupid.

So, in the midst of all this splendor I found time to load just over 200 rounds of weird obsolete cartridges over the last two days. Some cast, some NP, a few TSX's, spitzers in .30-30s and other off the wall stuff. Only thing better woulda been having a George Dickle numb jaw...

Would this fall into the controlled or uncontrolled flight into terrain and would it qualify as stupid as this appeared to be " hot dogging" in this infamous videoed crash of a B-52????

Some days I wish I could have a Dickle numb jaw....or any other Bourbonized body part for that matter...but alas, I had to put that part of my past to sleep...permanently, or I am told it would have eventually been me being put down....permanently!

Sad day right there. Reason it crashed is sadder still. Chitt like this happens when you let an ignorant and arrogant desk jockey fly a real jet.

I recall some of the report much after saying this particular pilot had a history of unsafe deeds. Was he not a seasoned guy and in fact a desk guy? Either, very sad if it was due to stupidity and arrogance! 4 lives lost I believe.

True. The Buff is flight restricted to roll angle in certain circumstance. The desk jockey ignored that. If you look at the photos you'll see the flight controls are fully deflected. More obvious in the video. Fuel moved to the outboard during excessive bank and exceeded command authority of the ailerons.

Oh, that wasn't in my trailerhood, just in case any of the fact-checkers are on duty.

I'm sure about that... Because there aren't any non-running camaros in that picture.
